萨摩烧是一种日本著名的代表性陶瓷器，釉面有裂纹装饰。万历朝鲜战争期间，九州南部萨摩藩为发展当地的陶瓷工艺从朝鲜掠来大量的陶瓷匠。萨摩烧就是这一时期被掠到日本的朝鲜陶瓷匠创建。

白萨摩

日置市美山的苗代川窑烧制的陶器。藩主的御用窑，以金、赤、绿、紫、黄等华美的彩绘为主。

黑萨摩

相对于白萨摩，以大众用的日用品为主的陶器，使用铁分含量多的土烧制，所以色泽偏黑。

Satsuma ware (萨摩焼 satsuma yaki) is a style of Japanese earthenware originally from the Satsuma region of what is today southern Kyūshū. Today, it can be divided into two distinct categories: the original plain dark clay early Satsuma (ko satsuma 古萨摩) made in Satsuma from around 1600, and the elaborately decorated export Satsuma (京萨摩kyō satsuma) ivory-bodied pieces which began to be produced in the nineteenth century in various Japanese cities. By adapting their gilded polychromatic enamel overglaze designs to appeal to the tastes of western consumers, manufacturers of the latter made Satsuma ware one of the most recognized and profitable export products of the Meiji period.
