金属线星或是Am星（Am star or metallic-line star）是一种在光谱类型上呈现化学性质特别的恒星，它们的光谱有着强烈和经常改变的金属吸收谱线，像是锌、锶、锆和钡，但是缺乏其它的像是钙和钪。这些异常是由于一些元素被推向表面并异常的吸收了部分的光，而其它的则因为重力而下沉。这种效果是因为恒星具有低转速的情况下才发生的。

通常，A-型恒星旋转快速。许多金属线星都是联星的伴星，它们的转速都是受到潮汐组尼而减缓的。

An Am star or metallic-line star is a type of chemically peculiar star of spectral type A whose spectrum has strong and often variable absorption lines of metals such as zinc, strontium, zirconium, and barium, and deficiencies of others, such as calcium and scandium. These abnormalities are due to some elements which absorb more light being pushed towards the surface, while others sink under the force of gravity. This effect takes place only if the star has low rotational velocity.
