Kuortane is a municipality of Finland.

It is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Southern Ostrobothnia region. The municipality has a population of 3,727 (30 June 2015) and covers an area of 484.89 square kilometres (187.22 sq mi) of which 22.72 km (8.77 sq mi) is water. The population density is 8.06 inhabitants per square kilometre (20.9/sq mi).
