Karasahr or Karashar, also known as (Chinese:焉耆; pinyin:Yānqí; Wade–Giles Yen-ch’i; Tocharian Ārśi (or Arshi), and; Sanskrit अग्निदेश Agnideśa), is an ancient town on the Silk Road and the capital of Yanqi Hui Autonomous County in the Bayin'gholin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, ********, in northwestern China.
