Dharmapuri is a city and the administrative headquarters of Dharmapuri district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. Dharmapuri which came into existence from 02.10.1965 is suituated in north western corner of Tamil Nadu city is located at just 126 kilometres from Bangalore ,220 kilometres from coimbatore,265 kilometres from Mysore,300kilometres from Chennai. It is located between latitudes N 11 47’ and 12 33’ and longitudes E 77 02’ and 78 40’. The total geographical area of Dharmapuri District is 4497.77 km, i.e. 3.46% of Tamil Nadu.
